An enhanced sampling QM/AMOEBA approach: The case of the excited state intramolecular proton transfer in solvated 3-hydroxyflavone

چکیده

We present an extension of the polarizable quantum mechanical (QM)/AMOEBA approach to enhanced sampling techniques. This is achieved by connecting PLUMED library machinery based on interface Gaussian and Tinker perform QM/AMOEBA molecular dynamics. As application, we study excited state intramolecular proton transfer 3-hydroxyflavone in two solvents: methanol methylcyclohexane. By using a combination dynamics umbrella sampling, find ultrafast component transfer, which common solvents, much slower component, active protic solvent only. The mechanisms components are explained terms vibrational redistribution intermolecular hydrogen-bonding, respectively. Ground free energies along effective reaction coordinate finally obtained allowing for detailed analysis mediated mechanism.

Excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) in dihydroxyphenyl anthracenes.

The photochemistry of three 9-(dihydroxyphenyl)anthracenes 6-8 was studied in neat CH(3)CN and selected organic solvents, to investigate excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) from the phenol to the anthracene moiety. In D(2)O-CH(3)CN mixtures, the observed deuterium exchange of 6-8 is consistent with water-mediated (formal) ESIPT process from the ortho phenolic OH to the 10'-posi...

Dramatic pressure-dependent quenching effects in supercritical CO2 assessed by the fluorescence of 4'-dimethylamino-3-hydroxyflavone. Thermodynamic versus kinetics control of excited-state intramolecular proton transfer.

Steady-state fluorescence of 4'-dimethylamino-3-hydroxyflavone (DMA3HF) was observed in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO(2)). Excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) occurs resulting in two well-separated emission bands corresponding to the normal and tautomer forms. As the scCO(2) density exceeds 0.7 g/mL, the relative intensity of the two bands tends to a constant value, compar...

Potential energy functions for an intramolecular proton transfer reaction in the ground and excited state

We describe the development of empirical potential functions for the study of the excited state intramolecular proton transfer reaction in 1-(trifuloroacetylamino)naphtaquinone (TFNQ). The potential is a combination of the standard CHARMM27 force field for the backbone structure of TFNQ and an empirical valence bond formalism for the proton transfer reaction. The latter is parameterized to repr...

Femtosecond cluster studies of the solvated 7-azaindole excited state double-proton transfer.

Presented here are femtosecond pump-probe studies on the water-solvated 7-azaindole dimer, a model DNA base pair. In particular, studies are presented that further elucidate the nature of the reactive and nonreactive dimers and also provide new insights establishing that the excited state double-proton transfer in the dimer occurs in a stepwise rather than a concerted manner. A major question a...

Exploring the Ultrafast Excited-State Intramolecular Proton Transfer (ESIPT) of β-Diketones in the deep-UV

The photodynamics in symmetric and unsymmetric β-diketones are studied with transient absorption in the deep-UV. Excitation leads to ultrafast ESIPT while further relaxation and isomerization processes depend on the molecular symmetry and solvent environment.
